Riesling from possibly the most famous site in all of Austria but definitely the quintessential single vineyard for riesling in Kamptal. The 25 year old vines are hand harvested, fermented with native yeasts and aged in large acacia casks. An a-typical riesling from Kamptal that favors precision and cut as opposed to the more muscular style the region is known for. Bone dry, mineral driven and pure.

Barbara Ohlzelt produces wines in Kamptal that are a departure from the traditional style of the region which typically favors more broad shouldered, muscular wines. Barbara's style is more linear and focused with emphasis on minerality and precision. Tasting her wines next to some other, more traditional leaning producers of the region is like putting on glasses for the first time or watching a movie in 4-D.
