I. Brand & Family Bates Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon (2021) Santa Cruz Mountains, California

Old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon from Bates Ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Currant and black cherry meet dried herbs, earth and dusty tannin, with 13.5% alcohol keeping the wine more savory than heavy. Classic mountain Cabernet without the polish turned up too high.
