Riesling, Gewürztraminer

Practicing Organic

A light and playful Pet Nat. The Riesling was farmed from an unnamed home vineyard that they refer to as Ony’s Roadside Attraction, pressed and fermented in stainless steel. The Gewürztraminer is also from the same site and is split for different vinifications. Some of the Gewürztraminer is direct pressed and then fermented in stainless steel. The remainder is destemmed and fermented on the skins until dry and then pressed off and moved into neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel. Over the winter, all of the wine is assembled into a single tank and some freshly thawed Riesling must is added, which was held back and frozen from crush. Bottled unfined, unfiltered and finished fermentation in the bottle.

The Maloof estate is nestled in the eastern edge of the coastal range in the most northwest corner of the Willamette Valley, vines that were originally planted in the 70s but are now run by the Maloof crew and converted to organic farming practices in 2020. Maloof Wines have been making juice since 2015, and are proudly produced at the base of the Dundee Hills, inside the Day Camp facility.
